ITINERARY

DAY 1.

Guest Arrival

Guests are transferred from the airport to their hotel. We will give our guests the opportunity to rest from their long journey to Egypt, and soak up the local atmosphere.

DAY 2.

Memphis and Saqqara

We will depart the hotel at 8am for Memphis - the former capital of Egypt. We will visit the Memphis Museum, where you will find the colossal reclining statue of Ramses II, and the alabaster sphinx. We then continue to Saqqara - the site of the Step Pyramid, the Pyramid of Titi, the Serapeum, and the Mastabas of Ti & Mereruka. We will also visit a carpet factory, where you will see beautiful handmade carpets being created by Egyptian artisans.

DAY 3.

Giza Plateau, Sphinx, and the Valley Temple

After breakfast, we will have an early start to the day, as we depart the hotel for the Giza Plateau. Our morning will be spent at the famous Giza Plateau, where the last of the seven wonders of the ancient world still stands. Guests will have the opportunity to take some breathtaking photos of the three great pyramids, the Sphinx, and the Valley Temple, whilst our guide explains the history of this ancient and mysterious site. We will take a camel ride to further explore the area.  Guests will also have the opportunity to go inside the Great Pyramid, the Pyramid of Menkaure, as well as the Solar boat museum. Entrance to these three areas are at an additional cost.

 

After lunch we will visit a Papyrus shop where they will demonstrate how papyrus has been made for over 5000 years.

 

The rest of the afternoon will be free. We have a range of activities available for our guests if they wish to partake. These activities are at an additional cost.

DAY 4.

Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut & Luxor Temple

We depart our hotel early in the morning to catch our flight to Luxor. 

After arrival, we cross the Nile to visit the Valley of the Kings, where we will see three famous tombs in the Valley of the Kings, the burial place for a period of nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, where tombs were constructed for the Pharaohs and powerful nobles. The admission ticket allows entry into three of the 63 tombs, but an additional ticket can be purchased for King Tutankhamen's tombs.

We will then visit the temple of Hatshepsut, one of the most legendary female pharaohs whose reign was one full of drama and scandal. 

After our visit to the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut, we will have lunch and check in to our 5 star Nile cruise ship. After lunch, we will visit Luxor Temple complex, which now has all four fully restored statues of Ramses guarding its gates.

DAY 5.

Karnak Temple Complex

We will have a relaxing morning with breakfast on the Nile, then we will depart to see Karnak Temple complex. 

Karnak Temple complex is one of the most legendary temples in Egypt. It comprises of a vast mix of decayed temples, chapels, pylons, and other buildings. Construction of temples started in the Middle Kingdom and continued through to Ptolemaic times with many famous pharaohs contributing to the temple. Karnak is the second largest ancient religious temple in the world, spanning across over 100 hectares.

 

We will return to Luxor before dusk, and marvel at the beautiful colossal statues of Ramesses II at the gates of the Luxor Temple, and its beautiful intact pillars and statues of other great rulers such as Tutankhamen.

DAY 6.

Edfu Temple and Kom Ombo

Today we will visit Edfu Temple – the temple dedicated to Horus,  and considered one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt.  

After our visit to Edfu, we will set sail for Kom Ombo and have lunch aboard our cruise. The afternoon will be free for our guests to enjoy the scenic Nile and the amenities on the cruise ship.

 

We will arrive in Kom Ombo in the afternoon and walk to this beautiful temple along the banks of the Nile. The setting sun makes the temple and its pillars glow in the afternoon sun, making it the best time to visit. We will also visit the Crocodile Museum and see some mummified crocodiles that were found at the temple.

 

We sail overnight to Aswan. 

DAY 7.

Philae Temple and Nubian Village

Our morning starts with a short trip on a felucca to the temple of Philae located on an island in Lake Nasser. This temple is dedicated to the Goddess Isis, and is a beautiful temple in picturesque surroundings. Philae Temple is unique in that it was completely relocated piece by piece in perfect condition, and the carvings in the Holy of Holies are awe-inspiring. The island is also home to many cats, which were worshipped by the Ancient Egyptians and are cared for by the locals who maintain the island. 

After lunch, we will visit an iconic Nubian Village. The Nubian people are known for their friendly culture and bright colorful villages.

DAY 8.

Return to Cairo from Aswan

We depart our Nile Cruise to fly back to Cairo, where we will get settled in our hotel and have the day to relax. 

There are various activities available at an additional cost, such as shopping, quad biking in the desert, or horseback riding

DAY 9.

Egyptian Museum in Tahrir and Cotton Factory

We begin our day with a visit to the Egyptian Museum located in historic Tahrir Square. 

The Egyptian museum is now a UNESCO world heritage site, and it was build especially to house the world's oldest collection of Pharaonic art and monuments. It is organized by dynasty and features an incredible array of artifacts and priceless pieces. 

After our visit to the Egyptian museum, we will have lunch and then embark to a cotton factory, where guests will have a chance to shop a beautiful variety of Egyptian cotton goods.

DAY 10.

National Museum of Egyptian Civilization and Old Cairo

On our final day of touring, we will visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, which is now home to the mummies of kings and queens of Egypt. 

Designed as an intensive overview of the Pharaonic culture and heritage, this museum is the first of its kind and will offer an astonishing array of sites. 

After our visit to the museum, we will then visit Old Cairo -  which was established in 969 C.E. We’ll visit the Hanging Church, the Coptic Museum - which houses the largest collection of early Christian artefacts; as well as the church of Abu Serga and Amr Mosque. 

We will then return to our hotel for lunch, time to relax, and our farewell dinner.

Departure Day

Guest will be transported to the airport for departure.
